The Class of 2023 will get one last chance to showcase their talents in the annual BeYOUnion.com Kansas vs. Missouri All-Star at Raymore-Peculiar on June 16.

And it’ll be one that should be evenly matched, especially on paper.

Looking at this year’s Kansas roster you’ll see names like Shawnee Mission Northwest running back Malik O’atis, Bishop Ward running back Brice Johnson, Bishop Miege quarterback Mac Armstrong and Mill Valley quarterback Hayden Jay, just to name a few.

Over the last few years, Kansas has never had the edge at the skill position spots and they seem to have the edge this season. However, will it be enough to beat the Missouri side, which is led by Fort Osage coach Brock Bult?

Looking at the Missouri roster, it may not have the same depth at the skill positions, but it does have depth on the defensive side of the ball.

Several names stand out to me, starting with Blue Springs South’s Peyton Osborn. Osborn helped lead South back to its winning ways last fall.

Another player to watch is Osborn’s teammate at South, Bryce Reeves. Reeves could be used in a multitude of ways on the offensive side of the ball, especially at the running back position. Reeves can also line up in the slot as a wide receiver.

Another position, or position group I will be focusing on for Missouri, will be the offensive line.

The offensive line is going to be what gives Missouri the edge. One name to focus on is Lafayette County’s Cade Limback. The 6-foot-5, 320-pound tackle is one best lineman in the city. He helped lead the Huskers to a deep state tournament run.

Now, what do I expect to happen in this year's game?

Well, I expect Kansas to keep the game close. Especially with the talent they have at the skill positions. Now, how will they stack up against Missouri’s offensive and defensive line?

Does Kansas have enough speed to compete? We’ll find out on June 16.
