Blue Springs South announced that it has hired Matt Klein to be the next Head Football Coach. Klein was introduced to the team Thursday afternoon.
Klein comes to South from Marquette High School in St. Louis. He has been the head coach at Marquette since 2014. Before that he was the head coach at Knob Noster for one season and was an assistant at Pleasant Hill for five years.
This is just the fifth head coach in the 27-year history of the school. Klein takes over for Jon Oyler who stepped down in December.
While at Marquette Klein took over a program that had only one winning season in the previous 10 years. He went 4-6 his first year but then led the Mustangs to winning seasons in three of the next four years finishing with a 30-24 mark.
