The American Cancer Society has a great opportunity for sports programs across the metro.

The Coaches vs. Cancer program is a nationwide collaboration between the American Cancer Society and the local coaches. This initiative leverages the personal experiences, community leadership, and professional excellence of coaches nationwide to increase cancer awareness and promote healthy living through year-round awareness efforts, fundraising activities, and advocacy programs.

With support from participating coaches and athletes alike, the American Cancer Society saves lives every day by helping people stay well by taking steps to prevent cancer or detect it early, helping people get well with hands-on support and services for patients and loved ones, finding cures through groundbreaking research, and fighting back by rallying communities worldwide and working with legislators to pass laws that defeat cancer. How can coaches in the Greater Kansas City Metro make an impact? Your commitment to joining Coaches vs. Cancer would make a real impact in the lives of those touched by the disease.  We need your support to continue the Society’s mission to eliminate cancer as a major health problem.  Participating in Coaches vs. Cancer is fun, and it teaches players and other students in your school valuable charitable and character-building lessons as well.  It’s also easy…

Step 1: Designate a home game in support of the fight against cancer and recruit others in your school to get involved!

Step 2: Contact your Coaches vs. Cancer Manager, to receive materials such as banners, buckets and donation cards to use at your game.

Step 3: Develop and execute your game plan and raise money to beat cancer! visit www.coachesvscancer.org to learn more.

Step 4: Collect donations, with all checks made payable to the American Cancer Society. After your fundraising event, turn in all donations to your local American Cancer Society office.
