In a great midseason Frontier League battle Louisburg held off Eudora 13-7 in a battle ruled by the defenses.

The win moves the Wildcats to 5-0 on the season while the Cardinals fall to 2-3 with their third straight loss.

Eudora drew first blood on the opening drive that lasted five minutes, 35 seconds when Kole Manley dove over from the 1. The six-Play 46 yard drive gave the Cardinals a 7-0 lead.

The Wildcats defense played tough from there keeping Eudora out of the end zone including a 4th and goal stop with 5:40 left in the second quarter.

After that stop the Louisburg offense got things going. The Wildcats drove from their own 9-yard line all the way down to the Eudora 1-yard line. From there Ashton Moore punched it in with 1:10 left in the first half. The made extra point made it 7-7 right before the half.

Louisburg would open the second half with the ball and go on an 11-play drive that Moore would end with a 4-yard TD run with 7:30 remaining in the third quarter. The snap was bobbled on the point after and Louisburg would hold a 13-7 lead.

Eudora again drove to the red zone but another defensive stop at the 11 ended the Cardinals threat.

The Cardinals would drive to the Louisburg 5-yard line on its next drive where they faced another fourth and goal. The Wildcats defense stiffened again to deny the score when Brody McGreer knocked away a pass in the end zone with 9:35 left in the game.

Eudora got the ball back at its own 25 yard line with 1:25 left but the Cardinals were only able to get 1 yard and Louisburg took over and ran out the clock for the win.
