KCK League getting better in 2012

The season is right around the corner and the preview of conference schedules continues now on PrepsKC.com.
 
The KCK-Atchison League has shown improvement the last couple of years and this could be the year the league takes an even bigger step forward. The league has an exciting slate of non-conference and league games and each week there should be some much anticipated games.
 
Let’s take a look at some of the best games in the KCK-Atchison League in 2012.
 
Week 1
Schlagle at Topeka West. Last year’s league champ takes a step up to face Class 6A Topeka West in a good opening game showdown.
 
Week 2
Spring Hill at Sumner. The Sabres were hampered by injuries in 2011 after winning the league and a playoff game in 2010. Spring Hill will give Sumner an early test.
 
Week 3
Atchison at Wyandotte. The biggest school in the conference hosts the smallest in the first league game of the season for Atchison.
 
Week 4
Washington at Harmon. The Wildcats and Hawks play a rematch of last year’s season-opening 36-29 win by Harmon.
 
Week 5
Schlagle at Wyandotte. The Stallions roughed up the Bulldogs last year so there could be a little revenge on the line.
 
Week 6
Wyandotte at Washington. This is a good old fashioned rivalry game where Wyandotte is holding a three-game winning streak.
 
Week 7
Atchison at Piper. This game opens districts but the winner could have the inside track at a district title.
 
Week 8
Lansing at Schlagle. The Stallions could be looking for a big win that could push them into the playoffs this year.
 
Week 9
Sumner at Atchison. This could be a playoff elimination game in the final week of the season.
