Starting with the first week of the season on both sides of the state line PrepsKC will announce a Papa John’s Player of the Week. Each week those players will be highlighted on and in their local Papa John’s location.

A player of the week will be awarded for all nine weeks of the regular season. At the end of the Kansas regular season a Papa John’s Player of the Year will be selected from the weekly winners. The Players of the year will each receive a pizza party for their team at the end of the season.

Below is this week’s Papa John’s Player of the Week

Carter Putz, quarterback Bishop Miege

Putz led Bishop Miege to a 27-14 win over rival St. Thomas Aquinas. In the game, he threw for 230 yards and one touchdown and ran for two more scores. The touchdown pass gave him 93 for his career which is a new Kansas state record.

Jeremiah Wilson, Center, running back

Wilson had another big game leading Center to a 30-7 win over St. Pius X. He finished with 12 touches on offense for 185 yards at one touchdown and forced a fumble on defense in the win.
