Liberty North had the perfect game plan for its Thursday night 47-20 victory over visiting William Chrisman: Leave it to Beavers.

North junior running back Antwynn Beavers carried the ball the first six times in the game, totaling 37 yards, to set up a 17-yard touchdown pass from Garrett Loew to Paul Silvio.

But he was just beginning.

He finished the quarter with 101 yards, including a 64-yard touchdown run, and finished the first half with 216 yards on 25 carries as the Eagles handed the Bears a loss that hurt in more ways than the final score.

Chrisman also lost starting quarterback Dylan Cole (triceps), running back Shaquille Pryor (leg) and defensive back Dakota Kiper (shoulder) to a variety of injuries.

Cole led the Bears to a touchdown on the first offensive series, hitting Jordan Warner for a big 41-yard pass play to set up DeMarco Hill’s 8-yard touchdown run.

But he was hit on the triceps on the next offensive series and knocked out of the game.
Beavers scored on a 64-yard run the first time he touched the ball on the Eagles’ second offensive series of the night to make the score 14-7.

Warner replaced Cole at quarterback and threw a pick-six, as Zac Miller intercepted the backup quarterback on the 21 and returned it for a touchdown to make the score 20-7 (the extra point was wide).

When the first half was over, the Eagles held a 47-7 lead and the Bears were simply playing for pride.
