Starting with the first week of the season on both sides of the state line PrepsKC will announce a Papa John’s Player of the Week. Each week those players will be highlighted on PrepsKC.com and in their local Papa John’s location.

Kansas
Sam Pedrotti, quarterback, Bishop Miege
Pedrotti threw for 358 yards and 5 TDs to lead the Stags to a 69-31 win over Goddard. The victory earned Miege its fifth-straight Kansas Class 4A state title.
Missouri
Seth McKnight, running back, Lathrop
Led the Mules to their first ever state championship game by rushing for 92 yards and a TD while blocking a punt and snagging 14 tackles in Lathrop’s 28-21 win over 7-time Missouri Class 2 champion Lamar.
