Cris Ferrerr, Center, running back – The Yelowjackets tailback had a huge day running for 369 yards and four TDs on 23 carries in Center’s 27-20 win over Van Horn Saturday.

Call of the night

Lawrence and Gardner-Edgerton played a back and forth game all night at Gardner. The Lions took a 35-34 lead with under four minutes left in the game. Gardner had one more chance driving to the Lawrence 33-yard line with 11 seconds left where the Trailblazers lined up for a game-winning field goal. Ryan Ragland of 810 Varsity had the call as the ball just missed from 50 yards.

Team of the night

Piper – The Pirates are off to a 3-0 start allowing just 19 points in the three games. None of their opponents have scored more than a TD as Piper is more than halfway to its win total from last season.

Big Winner

Leavenworth – The Pioneers got their first win for new head coach Sean Sachen and did it in exciting manner. Leavenworth took an early 19-6 lead only to see Basehor-Linwood come back to make it 30-19. The Pioneers would control the game from there going on to a 41-30 win.
