Tonganoxie used a swarming defense, and a quick strike offense to roll past Lansing 49-10. Tyler Bowden rushed for five touchdowns. The victory, for the Chieftains gave them the regional championship in the 4A Kansas bracket.

Tonganoxie scored first with an impressive spinning, 19-yard run, by Tyler Bowden. Jackson McWilliams converted the kick.

Lansing, Caden Crawford, executed a perfect quarterback draw from 18 yards out. Liam Zell split the uprights and the score was tied.

Early in the 2nd quarter, Tonganoxie, took the lead, when Blake Poje found Sam Kleidosty over the middle from 16 yards out.

On the next Lansing drive, Liam Zell, calmly jogged onto the field and nailed a 43-yard field goal.

In the last two minutes in the half, Tonganoxie faced a 4th and 5, on the Lansing 34-yard line. Head coach, Al Troyer, kept his offense on the field. Kleidosty, took a direct snap and split the defense for a touchdown.

On the ensuing drive on the first play, Crawford threw an interception, giving Tonganoxie, the ball on the Lansing 6-yard line. Bowden scored, from there, running around the left side. This made the score, 28-10 at halftime.

Tonganoxie totally dominated the second half. Their defense pitched a shutout in the second half, by getting two turnovers, and forcing two turnovers on downs. Offensively it was all Tyler Bowden, three more rushing touchdowns. Scoring runs of, 19, 17, and 12 yards.

Lansing finished the season with a record of 5-4. Tonganoxie improved their record to 9-1, and will take on Bishop Miege, in the next round of the playoffs.
