Quote of the night
“We think that no one in the state can run the ball on us and we continue to prove that every week. We came out there and put four in the box on the goal line and said run the ball, see what happens.” – Liberty North’s Eric Henkel after the Eagles 42-3 win over Park Hill holding the Trojans to just 22 total yards rushing.

Stat line of the night
Maik O’Atis, running back, Shawnee Mission Northwest – The junior tailback was all over the field for the Cougars in their 41-24 win over Lawrence. O’Atis finished the night with 145 yards rushing with three touchdowns and another two scores and 105 yards receiving.

Call of the night
Summit Christian Academy headed to University Academy for an 11 a.m. Saturday kickoff. While the lights weren’t needed there were plenty of fireworks as the teams traded scores all game long. With just seconds left on the clock Summit Christian trailed 50-48 and the Eagle’s Jake Sutton lined up for a 19-yard field goal. Sutton’s kick sailed through the uprights as time expired giving Summit Christian the 51-50 win. MOKS Sports Joe Van Amburg was on the call.
